Hello! I’m Amanda Buchanan, the owner and lead coordinator at Simple Day. I have over ten years of experience as an event coordinator and North Carolina wedding planner. I’ve done everything from destination beach weddings, to large scale corporate events in our nation’s capital.
Over the years, I noticed that not only was I becoming uninspired with big, over the top weddings, but so were my clients. I wanted to help change the industry narrative. Couples should feel comfortable (not judged for) taking a more minimalistic approach to wedding planning. Nobody should feel like they are sacrificing any part of themselves during this process, and I love helping couples put together a day that truly reflects their individual styles and personalities.

Where do I even begin?! AMANDA IS THE MOST AMAZING PERSON EVER! Not only is she an amazing wedding planner, but she is just an all together incredible person. She made the planning process a complete breeze and made sure everyone and thing was in line. She is definitely a bride’s advocate, and I’m sure without her, things would not have gone as smoothly as they did. She will do whatever it takes to make sure your vision is seen through to the end! Our wedding day was simply perfect. Every detail was exactly how we imagined it or better but none of that would have been possible without Amanda. From the very first phone call, Amanda made us feel comfortable and at ease. She made everything easy with her client portal, her day of timeline, working directly with our vendors and locations, and being completely accessible for every nervous bride phone call and text I made! Amanda was the key to our wedding and we are beyond thankful for all of her help and guidance through the most perfect day of our lives! She is simply the best in the business!
Amanda was PERFECTION and then some as my day of coordinator! Simple Day matched my vision for my wedding perfectly- simple, budget friendly, yet still BEAUTIFUL. This is what I described to Amanda during our first consultation and she more than delivered. As my day of coordinator she made herself available to me well before my big day. She and I had our initial meeting at my venue where we discussed my vision and expectations, walked the space, and planned for our next meeting date to to give her my decor items. From there she helped me make my linen orders and gladly answered any questions I had up until my wedding day. By the week of, she had taken over all communications with my vendors. My wedding day was perfect, beautiful, and ran seamlessly. Amanda had everything to do with that. She was literally on top of every detail. Any time a card was placed in my or my husband’s hand she swooped in out of nowhere to make sure it got to our card box lol.
