When I was putting together last week’s Oregon Inlet styled shoot post, I realized I never blogged the amazing shoot I did in Ocracoke with Rachael McIntosh from over the summer! So before I share all of the beautiful fall weddings with you, I have to share this one! It was also featured over on Coastal Bride, which was such an honor. ♥
Ocracoke Wedding Inspiration Shoot
One of the most amazing things about this shoot, was that Rachael shot the majority of it in film. I’ve always had a soft spot for film photography (I spent many days in the darkroom in high school and college!) so I may have literally swooned when I found out what was in her camera!

Our inspiration was the sunrise, because the Outer Banks has some seriously amazing sunrises. That meant our day started well before dawn. Three hours, one bridge, and a ferry ride later we were ready to go! And it was 100% worth it.

Did you know I have a minor obsession with cross back chairs, like those pictured above? No? Well, now you know. I love their timeless versatility. There are very few styles that they do not work well with. The dark tone of this pair was just amazing with the hand painted cake and floral details for this shoot. Another set of beautiful details? The watercolor invitation suite from Joy Unscripted. Loved getting to play around with these!

But most of the shoot was spent with this gorgeous couple, who made the sweetest match ever. Wandering around the secluded beaches of Ocracoke is a pretty romantic way to spend the morning, and it totally shows in these pictures. Perfect Ocracoke wedding inspiration. ♥

Gratitude
After we packed up, took another ferry ride, and made our way back over the bridge, we found flooded roads, and heard news of three (!!) water spouts that had touched down on our little sandbar while we were shooting. We’re still not totally sure how we managed to bypass all that, but we are forever thankful that we were able to do this shoot! The weather is always a factor on the Outer Banks, and we know how truly lucky we were!
I’m also super thankful for the amazing team that came together to make this beautiful shoot a reality. Please take a moment to check out each of them–they are all amazing at their craft! And also check out the feature post over on Coastal Bride for more details and pictures from the shoot!
