A lot of people ask me for examples of locations for pop up weddings. Parks are the quickest response, but I really hate giving any answer. When I do single pop up weddings (as opposed to venue-hosted pop up events) the location is very carefully hand-selected based on the couple’s interests and personalities. For Mara and Ray, I didn’t *just* want a park. I needed to find somewhere lush and magical. I mean, when the bride requests fairies, I want to deliver fairies! Enter Duke Park.
Magnolias and Fairies at Duke Park
So obviously I could not *actually* deliver fairies. But I could deliver moss filled globes with fairy lights in a magnolia tree. Throw in a little morning sun, and I think we did alright. 🙂
Bretty Seay at Blest Studios was able to capture the quiet moments and intimate joy this couple shared perfectly. I love that they’ll be able to visit this park for years to come, and share many more sweet moments beneath the same tree where they were married.
And let’s also take a moment to appreciate the flowers. THE FLOWERS, you guys. Amaranthus isn’t always my favorite, but it really worked in this bouquet. The flower crown helped balance everything out, adding to the lush greenery backgrounds, and I just…I can’t, you guys. I can’t. Brandi nailed it.
Planning this sweet and intimate pop up wedding was so much fun. I was able to work with some of my favorite vendors and create the special day that Mara and Ray deserve. I wish you both the best in your life together!
(Photo credit for the last one technically goes to Ray’s dad, who borrowed Brett’s camera to capture this rare glimpse at the vendors in our standard wedding professional “uniforms” — aka, all black! Haha!)
