In every aspect of wedding planning, Pinterest can make things feel a little overwhelming. Seeing something in person, though, and holding it in your hands, can help make the decision so much easier. So when Basic Invite contacted me to see if I wanted a sample pack of their products, I was all over it! I love having stationery samples on hand to show couples! (But don’t worry, this is a completely unbiased review!)
Basic Invite Style & Selction
Basic Invite’s products are exactly what you would expect from their name–a basic assortment of stationery products at affordable prices. There is definitely something for all styles and trends. Below are two of my favorite designs. One is perfect for a soft, romantic wedding theme; the other would be amazing for a more modern celebration. Neither design is especially unique, but they are both lovely and on trend. For many couples, that’s enough.
A big plus for Basic Invite is that they have a ton of color options, which helps the designs feel a bit more custom. For couples on a budget, this is a great compromise when you can’t afford a totally custom design, but have a major fear of cookie cutter wedding elements. In many cases, this means changing the colors of the fonts or elements on in the suite. For some designs, though, and especially for things like envelopes, they have an amazing variety of colored papers and finishes to choose from.
The sample kit they sent me included a few different finishes on nice, thick stock paper. My favorite was a luxe velvet finish. They also have raised ink options, and foil–including rose gold! 😍 You can visit my Instagram stories (mobile only) to check out the different finishes and options.
Basic Invite Value
Most of the invitations, when printed on their standard weight paper with flat ink, are advertised to begin at 99 cents per invitation. This is a bit misleading, though, as that price is only for orders of 500 invitations. If you’re reading this blog, you are probably not somebody planning a 500+ guest wedding. 🙂 Ordering a batch of 75 (without any upgrades) will run you just under $2 per invite, which still makes a great semi-custom option. Upgraded paper or ink/foil options will also increase the price, of course. (They will pre-print your addressed envelopes at no charge, though! They’ll even give you a super cute image to share on social media to help gather those addresses!)
Beyond the invitations, they have everything you need to create a full suite, from envelopes to pockets and corresponding enclosure cards. They also have place cards, programs, menu cards, and even invitations for showers. Reviews often mention the efficiency and shipping, so these could also be great options for couples working on a shortened timeline.
Check out my Instagram stories today for a full look at Basic Invite’s samples, and feel free to ask any questions! (I’ll probably post a few fun polls, too!) Also, unrelated to their product line, but definitely worth mentioning: they have a huge selection of free printables! This includes a bunch of wedding planning worksheets, which I love, love, love! Definitely check those out, and come back here tomorrow for another stationery feature!
