Can you believe 2016 is almost over? Next week begins the whirlwind holiday season, and before you know it, we’ll be celebrating the new year! While some trends like hand lettering and metallics will stay with us for 2017, they’ll be joined by a few newcomers. Here are our top 3 wedding trends for 2017:
-
Rich neutrals – Pastels and jewel tones have dominated for the last few years. In 2017, they’ll meet in the middle to create more muted, neutral palletes, that are still fresh, and clean. Think rich creams and warm taupes paired with crisp whites and bright ivories. Pantone has even included Hazelnut as one of it’s colors for Spring 2017. Already popular greenery choices like eucalyptus and ruscus really pop against these neutrals and keep things relaxed but still elegant and chic.

Mixing Textures – Neutral color schemes leave room for couples to really play with textures. It’s a simple way to amp up the luxe factor without being too in your face or over the top. Example: Velvet and chiffon linens paired with wood grains, glass, and copper to create an amazing tablescape. More inspiration:

Food Bar Experience – We saw a lot of this in 2016, and we’ll see even more of it in 2017. ‘Wedding reception food’ has a bad reputation, and many couples (and chefs!) want to change that. To do it, they’re leaving traditional buffets and plated dinners behind, instead choosing to bring in food trucks or set up food stations where guests can build their own perfect burger, taco, or even sushi! Taking it in the other direction, couples can also choose to offer a pre-curated menu with food and drink pairings showcasing signature cocktails or local craft beers.
