First up for our Stationery Week features: Kasey from Revelry + Heart. I am so excited to share this rockstar stationer with you! She’s like, the coolest. 😎 She brings a fresh eye for design, and makes the process super fun. So without further ado…
Let’s get to know Kasey from Revelry + Heart
- What services you do you offer?
I create custom wedding invitations that are designed around my couples. I especially love nods to special details of their personalities such as a pawprint of their dog or hidden Mickey ears for Disney fans.
- Once a client hires you, what does the process look like from start to finish?
Bespoke (one-of-a-kind) designs are typically a 12-week process. First. we meet to discuss the vision and key elements. I also take this time to get to know my couples, it’s a great excuse to meet new friends :). Afterwards, I consult their mood board if they have one, and create one with elements I think they’d like for their invitations. I design custom options for them, listening and guiding them through the creative journey until we have landed on the perfect invitation. We print and get excited to start getting guest reactions!
- What has your favorite suite been so far?
My suites are so unique from one another and I love different ones for so many reasons. I have one suite that had a vintage floral illustration on acrylic that I thought was such a killer juxtaposition. I have my very first suite that holds a special place in my heart and opened up many doors for my business. But for my favorite, I’ll be cliché and say that my favorite invitation was the engraved cedar suite I created for my own wedding. Giving a piece of myself and my husband to my wedding guests and hyping them up for our big day was worth every papercut and splinter.
- What is your favorite thing to create/design?
I love when people push the envelope. 😉 I gravitate towards forward-thinking couples who want to shake things up. As a designer with professional training, I favor contrast and easy-to-read text. I also LOVE texture. Adding fine details elevates the design to something really special and I’ve been known to go crazy over raised inks, embossed papers, and organic grain/marble details.
- What is the number one question couples ask you?
I most often get concerns on how to word sticky situations like non-traditional families and adult-only celebrations. I have an arsenal of ways to approach these challenges and am happy to share my experience as an event partner to ease at least a little bit of their planning stress.
